Kathleen Lorna Dávila, 81, of Oostburg, went home to be with her Lord peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at her home.
Kathy was born on July 20, 1944, to Lawrence “Lorney” and Lois (Wissink) Brasser in Sheboygan. She graduated from Cedar Grove High School and went on to obtain her bachelor’s in teaching from Lakeland Teachers College.
Kathy worked at Cedar Grove-Belgium School for over 25 years, where she was a teacher’s aide, taught 1st and 2nd grade, and library aide.
On July 29, 1972, she was united in marriage to José Hipolito Dávila in Toa Alta, Bayamón, Puerto Rico.
Kathy’s family was most important to her and she loved to dote on her grandchildren, who adored her. She was a devoted wife and exceptional mom and grandma. Kathy was deeply faithful and lived out her faith every day. Taking care of others brought her joy.
Kathleen is survived by her husband of 53 years, José; children, Tom (Christina) Dávila, Jack (Vicki) Dávila, Teresa (Dan) Hartmann; grandchildren, Josh, Mandy, Ben, Ellie, Lynnie, and Abbie Dàvila, Violette and Charlotte Dávila, Anthony Rautmann, Leila, and Lillie Hartmann; brother, Tom (Sharon) Brasser; sisters-in-law, Tata Rodriguez, Nova (Luis) Rondon; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law Jose and Victoria Dávila, and sisters-in-law Elba Dávila and Matilde Dávila.
A funeral service to celebrate Kathleen’s life will be held at First Reformed in Cedar Grove on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 12:00pm.
Relatives and friends may greet the family at church from 9:30am until the time of the service.
Memorials are appreciated in Kathy’s name.
