Kathleen M. DeCosmo

Kathleen "Kathy" M. DeCosmo, age 84, passed peacefully with family beside her on October 23, 2023, in the care of Residential Hospice at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. Kathy was born on March 13, 1939, in Brooklyn, NY. She was married to Anthony "Tony" DeCosmo for 59 years and leaves behind their 4 children: John DeCosmo, Joseph (Stacey) DeCosmo, Maria (David) Weddige, and Anthony (Dawn) DeCosmo. Nine grandchildren: Louis (Kelley) DeCosmo, Michael (Jordan) DeCosmo, Sam DeCosmo, Drs. Joseph (Kaitlin) DeCosmo, Nicholas (Faith) DeCosmo, Christopher (Meghan) Weddige, Michelle Weddige, Anthony DeCosmo, and Elizabeth DeCosmo, along with four great-grandchildren; Max & Miles DeCosmo and Brooks & Shea Weddige. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Reilly Fialkowsky along with many nieces and nephews. Kathy was predeceased by her husband Tony DeCosmo, her parents William and Margaret Reilly, her brother Bill, and her sister Cecilia. Tony and Kathy worked together in the artificial christmas tree industry and raised their family in the spirit of Christmas all year through. After their retirement Kathy and Tony lived in New Port Richey, FL and then San Antonio, FL. With Tony's passing in 2018, Kathy decided to move closer to two of her children and experience the addition of four great-grandchildren to her family. "GGma" often played with her "greats" and found much joy in watching them grow. As she continued her retirement in Naperville, IL she enjoyed attending Bible Study at Holy Spirit Catholic Church as well as volunteering at The Serendipity Resale Shop and at Arbor Terrace Senior Living Facility. A Celebration of Life will be held in both Naperville, IL and Brooksville, FL. Final interment will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL alongside her husband.
