Kathleen Genevieve Freier, age 97 of Cannon Falls, died at home on Thursday afternoon, February 13, 2025.
Kathleen was born on December 26, 1927 in Red Wing, the daughter of Victor and Cecilia (Franklin) O'Neill. She attended country school and later graduated from Goodhue High School in 1945. She received her teacher's training and taught rural country school in Belle Creek for four years. She had worked at White Rock Bank for a time and married Stanley Freier on September 24, 1955.
Kathleen was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed large gardens, both vegetable and flower. She was an active member of St. Pius V Catholic Church, and involved with the CCW and taught catechism. She also volunteered with the blood mobile.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley on August 17, 2003; three infant children; and sisters, Peggy Yanisch and Colleen O'Neill.
Kathleen will be missed by her children, Pamela (Philip) Bergstrom of Elk River, Cheryl (Lee) Smith, Lynn Freier, and Scott Freier, all of Cannon Falls; sister and brothers, Mary Helen Forsell, David O'Neill, Larry (Marlene) O'Neill, and Michael (Val) O'Neill; and nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 25 at 11:00 am, with visitation from 10 am - 11:00 am, at St. Pius V Catholic Church, 410 W. Colvill St., Cannon Falls. Spring interment will be at the Cannon Falls Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in her memory to St. Pius V Catholic Church, Cannon Falls and Holy Trinity/St. Columbkill Catholic Cemetery, Belle Creek.
