Kathleen “Kate” Ann Jueneman, 73, of Hanover, KS, passed away at her home on October 10, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hanover Mortuary, with family present. A rosary service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 17, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hanover, followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers are Mark Jueneman, Frank Jueneman, Joel Jueneman, Scott Jueneman, David Jueneman, and Dan Jueneman.

Kate was born on October 21, 1951, to Harold and Vera (Luehring) Plehal in Hanover. She attended Hanover Public School and graduated from Hanover High School in 1969.

On June 20, 1970, she was united in marriage to George C. Jueneman at St. John’s Catholic Church. Together, they had four children: Erik, Wade, Kaylin, and Chelsea.

After marriage, Kate focused on her children and home. She worked at Schwartz’s Shopping Center for several years until its closure. She then worked at Citizens State Bank until her retirement. When she was not at work, she served as bookkeeper for the family’s soil conservation business, George C. Jueneman Dozer Service, managed the farm and livestock, and was a devoted homemaker and mother.

In her spare time, Kate enjoyed embroidery, going to casinos with her husband and kids, baking, reading, and gardening. Many of her loved ones have enjoyed her baked goods and hand-embroidered tea towels. Her grandchildren loved her famous cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip cookies, which she brought to every family occasion.

Kate loved her family. Her children and grandchildren were the greatest joy of her life. She and George spent many weekends visiting their kids and grandkids, watching them in activities and sports. Even while she was sick, Kate found joy in talking with her kids and grandkids every chance she had.

Kate was strong in her faith and was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and the Altar Society. In the last few months of her life, she found great comfort in reading the Bible.

Above all, Kate was known for her strength, kindness, and generosity. She was hardworking and passed her strong work ethic on to her children. Kate’s passing will leave a hole that can never be filled.

Kate was preceded in death by her son, Erik; her parents; brother, Rick; brothers-in-law, Wilbur, Orval, Jim, Paul, and Robert Jueneman; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Ramos, Ellie, Loretta, and Alice Jueneman.

She is survived by her husband, George; son, Wade (Karen) Jueneman, Topeka; daughter, Kaylin (Ben) Mueller, Overland Park; daughter, Chelsea (Wade) Hearting, Olathe; grandchildren, Kaden and Shane Jueneman, Cole, Katie, and Cooper Mueller, and Bailey and Emma Hearting; and many beloved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Hanover Mortuary, c/o Kinsley Mortuary, P.O. Box 147, Marysville, KS 66508.
