On August 3, 2024, Kathleen Leadbitter passed away at McMurray Hills Manor. She was born on August 2, 1942 in Canonsburg, PA, the daughter of the late Clyde and Zelma (Beppler).
Deceased are a brother, Clyde Beppler, Jr. and a sister, Mary Lou Beppler. Kathleen is the last of her immediate family.
On June 29, 1963, Kathleen married Gilbert Leadbitter, Jr. who died in 1987.
Surviving are her children; Dr. Gilbert (Gina) Leadbitter III, Sharon Leadbitter, Kevin (Lisa Marie) Leadbitter, Dr. Patrick (Rebecca) Leadbitter and Christopher (Regina) Henry, grandchildren; Jessica (Nathan) Barton, Jacob Leadbitter, Isaiah Leadbitter, Kaitlin Leadbitter, Gabrielle Leadbitter, Amanda (Matt) Heider, Shana Ferrante, Alexis (Michael) Quinn and one great grandchild; Carson Heider.
Kathleen was a founding member of the Old Schoolhouse Players in Hickory, PA where she served as an officer, director, actor and crew member. She also acted with Washington Community Theater, Stage 62 and the Baldwin Players. Kathleen was a board member and officer of the Mt. Pleasant Community Center. She retired from Washington County Children & Youth Services where she was an administrative assistant for 20 years. An avid animal lover, Kathleen had an extensive knowledge of all types of animals, especially dogs and cats. Kathleen was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, St. Alphonsus Church where she was a choir member for a number of years. She also served as a cantor and funeral cantor.
Friends and family will be received from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 314 W. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, PA 15057 (724-926-2800). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 10 am at St. Isidore the Farmer Parish - St. Alphonsus Church. Burial is private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Old Schoolhouse Players, Washington County Humane Society and American Cancer Society.
