Kathleen Loman Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
On July 22, 2025, Kathleen Joyce Loman, 76, was called to heaven where she was joyfully reunited with her mom, Violet, her father, Richard, and her sister, Diane. Heaven gained an angel, but the light we all loved went out here on earth.
Katie was born on May 10, 1949 in Racine, Wisconsin. She developed into a young woman with a beautiful soul and loving nature. She was honest, generous, loyal, compassionate, empathetic, and the best daughter, sibling, and friend a person could possibly wish for.
One of her proudest accomplishments was the dream house she built with her husband Brad on the bluffs overlooking the beautiful St. Croix River. She dearly loved her family, one that genuinely enjoyed each other's company. As often as they could, the family would take the houseboat "The Bay Bee" out on the river for a Finn Family Reunion Cruise. It was always a celebration and many a cruise ended in a bit of mischievous fun. Katie also had a special place in her heart for her Pomeranian dogs, having loved many (she was particularly fond of Crush, Angel, and Gabby) during her lifetime.
Katie graduated from UW Eau Claire with a degree in English. It was at UW Eau Claire that she joined the Sigma, Sigma, Sigma (Tri Sigs) Sorority. She remained friends and attended reunions with her closest sorority sisters (Connie (Hoosier) Miller - GreenBay, WI, Jerry Slinger - Eagle River, WI, and Carol B. - Eau Claire, WI) for many years.
Soon after graduating, she realized that her interest, passion, and talent lie in computer science, and subsequently pursued a second degree in this discipline from UW River Falls. Katie's career was spent at 3M as a computer programmer and she absolutely loved her job!
She is survived by four siblings, her two sisters Karen (Finn) Rudat (Kim) – Neenah, WI and Donna Finn – Bullhead City, AZ along with two brothers, Charles Finn – St. Charles UT, & Curtis Finn (Donna) - Tomah, WI
She is also survived by her niece Katie (Finn) Burroughs (Alex) - Eau Claire, WI and nephew Tim Finn (Marci) - Racine, WI. She had two great nieces Raven Finn -Racine, WI and Violet (named after her great-great grandmother) Burroughs - Eau Claire, WI. She also had four great nephews, Oliver (Violet's twin), Rowan, and Maxwell, Burroughs - Eau Claire WI and Ethan Finn - Racine, WI. Additionally, she had a great, great, nephew Canon Finn - Racine-WI.
Katie also leaves behind her lifelong partner, Brad Loman, who deeply misses her and will never forget her. For a time they chose different paths (Katie's led her to Arizona while Brad remained in the Hudson area), but after a few short years their paths converged once again. They resided together and remained loving companions prior to her passing. The family is very grateful to Brad for his unwavering love and compassion for Katie. He became her caregiver towards the end of her life, supporting all of her needs.
The family is also grateful to our sister, Donna, who managed to both work full time and watch over Katie while she was in Arizona. She helped Katie through some challenging times, for which we are all very appreciative.
Lastly, she was survived by her brother in law Greg (Jan) Loman - New Berlin, WI, niece Michelle – New Berlin, WI and nephew Steve Loman - Chicago, IL.
Our dear Katie, we are blessed to have had you in our lives and you will remain forever in our hearts. We know you are looking down and watching over all of us. Till we meet again!
Katie's family would like to express a special thank you to the angels from Adoray Home Health & Hospice for the compassion and care they provided to Katie in her precious final days. Especially, we would like to recognize her Hospice nurse Felicia who, with amazing love and care enabled Katie to pass in dignity, comfortably, and peacefully.
