Kathleen Jo Manoussakis, lovingly known as Kathi, was born on June 6, 1956, in Kettering, Ohio. She was the cherished daughter of Richard and Ann Payne, who have since passed away. Kathi's heart was filled with love, kindness, and a unique charm that radiated to everyone she met.
Kathi graduated from Kettering Fairmont East High School in 1974. She continued her education at Miami Jacobs Community College, where she earned an Associate Degree. Her professional journey was marked by dedication and hard work, as she spent 21 years at Mead Corporation and another 13 years at Pohlman and Talmage CPA firm, where her contributions were greatly valued.
In 1991, Kathi celebrated a monumental moment in her life when she married her beloved husband, Emmanouill, in Athens, Greece. The couple shared 35 wonderful years together, filled with love and mutual respect. Kathi's proudest accomplishments included their two sons, Thomas (Shenna) and William (Kelsey) Manoussakis, who brought her immeasurable joy and pride.
Kathi was recognized not only for her impressive career but also for the warmth she brought into her personal relationships. Known for her honest, kind, and caring nature, she was a sweet presence in the lives of many around her. She nurtured her family and friends with a giving spirit that will be fondly remembered.
Kathi had a passion for simple pleasures, often enjoying time spent watching television and creating memories with her loved ones. Her last trip, a heartfelt journey to San Francisco with Emmanouill, was a beautiful testament to their bond.
She passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, with her husband by her side, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. Kathi is survived by her dear husband, sons, a sister, Cyndi (Keith) Willoughby, a brother, Ric (Robin) Payne, and numerous other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church, 2841 E. Dorothy Lane in Kettering.
