Kathleen Marcinczyk July 26, 1942 – July 18, 2025 Kathleen Marcinczyk, affectionately known as Kathy, Nana, and Aunt Beauty, was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister who brought warmth and joy to all who knew her. Born on July 26, 1942, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Kathy passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, just days before her 83rd birthday. Raised in South Amboy, Kathy later settled in Beachwood, New Jersey, where she lived for 40 years and raised her four children with boundless love, strength, and devotion. In her later years, she enjoyed life at Leisure Village West in Manchester, New Jersey. As a teenager, Kathy was proud to be a Kennedy Girl, enthusiastically supporting John F. Kennedy's campaign, a reflection of her lifelong commitment as a passionate Democrat. Known for her spirited conversations and steadfast values, she remained a proud advocate for her beliefs throughout her life. Kathy dedicated 13 years of service to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, where her professionalism and warmth left a lasting impression. Beyond her career, she found joy in life's simple pleasures: crocheting cherished keepsakes for loved ones, taking trips to Atlantic City, and, above all, spending time with her family. She held dear the memories of taking her children to the beach during their childhood. A talented home cook, Kathy delighted in preparing traditional Polish dishes, especially galumpkis (stuffed cabbage) and pierogis, which brought comfort and joy to her family's table. In 1998, Kathy embarked on a memorable journey to Ireland with her sisters, Elaine and Lillian, and brother-in-law, Bill Gladding. They explored the towns and countryside of their family's heritage, an experience she treasured deeply. Kathy often said her greatest accomplishment was raising her four successful children: Dr. Michael Marcinczyk (Debra), Martin Marcinczyk (Sara Peragine), Thomas Marcinczyk, and Meghan Lamar (Kyle). Her love for them was immeasurable, and she took immense pride in their achievements. Later in life, her seven grandchildren-Jake, Noah, Brock, and Julia Marcinczyk, and Cayden, Carson, and Camryn Lamar, who lovingly called her "Nana"-became the center of her world, filling her days with pride and joy. Those who knew Kathy will remember her for her unconditional love, selflessness, quick wit, and radiant warmth. Her heart never stopped giving, and her smile could light up any room. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family-a legacy that will live on in the lives she touched. In her own words, a reminder to us all: "Love you more." Kathy is survived by her children, grandchildren, and her sister, Lillian Gladding. She was predeceased by her parents, Martin and Lillian Dohaney, her sister Elaine Braun, and her brother Martin Dohaney. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor her memory.
