In Loving Memory of Kathleen Ann McAughey

It is with profound love and gratitude that we celebrate the life of Kathleen Ann McAughey a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose kindness, strength, and patience touched every life she encountered. She passed away surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of unconditional love, quiet courage, and joyful memories.

She is survived by her beloved husband, James; her three children: Chris and his longtime partner, Jen; Jamie (Kevin); and Stacie (Jeremy); and her nine adoring grandchildren: Brittany, Allie (Tim), Adam, James, Andrew, Madison (Matt), Tyler, Christian, and Anna. She was preceded in death by her cherished daughter-in-law, Colleen, whose memory she carried tenderly in her heart.

To her grandchildren, she was not only "Grammy," but also a best friend, a confidante, and the heart of the family.

Though she faced illness for much of her life, she fought with a spirit as gentle as it was fierce. Her perseverance was rooted in love; she wanted nothing more than to spend time with her grandchildren. Every moment she shared with them was a triumph of devotion, and her strength was a constant reminder of what it means to live for the people you love.

The sweetest, most patient grandma on earth, she loved her grandkids more than it seems humanly possible to love another person. Her laughter filled every board game night, her voice brought stories to life as she read to us, and her gentle encouragement made us feel seen, safe, and endlessly loved.

Holland, Michigan, will always be the place where her love came to life. There, she filled our days with sunshine, ice cream cones, beach towels, and board games. Those summers were more than just vacations they were proof of her gift for turning time together into the most precious kind of memory.

Never judgmental and always supportive, she had the rare gift of making everyone feel accepted exactly as they were. Her grace, warmth, and humor will continue to guide us, reminding us that the best way to honor her is to love one another the way she loved us deeply, endlessly, and without condition.

Her memory will live on in every story told, every family game played, and every summer spent together.

And as we remember her, we hold close the words she so often read to us:

"I'll love you forever,

I'll like you for always,

As long as I'm living,

My baby you'll be."

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Eineder Funeral Homes – Brooklyn Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
