Kathleen “Kathy” (Drobniewski) Nickel, daughter of the late Casmier and Catherine Drobniewski, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away surrounded by the family she cherished. Married for 61 wonderful years to the love of her life, Robert, their partnership was a testament to unwavering devotion, loyalty, and enduring love.
Bold in spirit and unafraid to tell it like it was, Kathy lived her life with honesty, humor, and heart. She was the steady center of her family, always putting her husband and children first. She took immense pride in raising her sons, Robert (Dawn) and Jeff (Melanie), and watching them become parents to Danielle (Katie), Jamie, Natalie, Nathan (Hannah), Logan, and the late Brandon. Kathy was also a great grandmother of 3, Dontae, Davon, and Dru. Sister of Tommy Drobniewski, Susan Kruck and the late David and Matthew Drobniewski.
A proud daughter of Pittsburgh’s Northside, Kathy’s loyalty to her hometown never wavered. She was a passionate supporter of all Pittsburgh sports teams, cheering loudly and faithfully. At home, she found companionship in her beloved dog, Charlie, who never left her side.
Kathy was an extraordinary cook, known for her warm kitchen and unforgettable meals. Deeply proud of her Polish roots, she passed down family recipes and traditions that will continue to be cherished for generations.
Kathy’s strength, love, and vibrant personality leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.
