Kathleen "Kathy" Parlier

On September 5, 2025, Kathleen Parlier, beloved to many, passed away. She was 82. Kathy was born to Robert and Rose McJunkin in Vallejo CA. She grew up there in the same loving home with her younger sister, Nora and an enormous extended family. They were all very close and always together. Kathy attended school at St. Basil Catholic Church and St. Vincent Ferrar. After graduating from Armstrong Business College, she started her first job at the District Attorney's Office, kickstarting a 49-year career. She held very prestigious jobs including PG&E.

In 1973, Kathy met the love of her life, Donald Parlier of Patterson CA at the Navy Officers Club and went on to have a joyous 38-year marriage with two stepchildren, Chris and Jannese. San Diego, CA, was where they started out and Pleasant Hill CA was where they mainly settled and retired. They were adventure seekers with many trips and cruises. It was always an honor to be entertained by those foodies.

Kathy's dedication to her Catholic faith shined as a parishioner of Christ the King Church in Pleasant Hill CA. She also had a passion for lifting her community and helping others through the St. Vincent de Paul Charity. She was a person of many talents.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her sister, Nora Fiedler and spouse, Andrew of Gila, NM; her stepson, Chris Parlier and spouse, Kelley of Coppell TX; her stepdaughter, Jannese Summers and spouse, Stan of Colorado Springs CO; her grandchildren Clark Parlier, Sophia Summers, Jarrad Summers and Britanny Summers; her great-grandchildren Elliott Summers, Harper Summers, Wyatt Summers, Walker Summers and many cousins and close friends.

A funeral Mass will be held on September 12th, 2025 at 1:00pm at St. Stephen Catholic 1101 Keaveny Ct, Walnut Creek. A Graveside Service will follow at 2:30pm at The Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1965 Reliez Valley Rd, Lafayette. A "Celebration of Life" reception will be held from 3:30-5:30pm at Pasta Prima Vera, 2997 N. Main St, Walnut Creek. In lieu of flowers the family would request a donation be made to the Society of St. Vincent De Paul.
