French Funerals & Cremations - Wyoming & San AntonioKathleen E. Valcourt, 86, passed away peacefully in her home accompanied by her husband of 64 years, Carlton.
Born in Cambridge, England, she grew up in wartime and was the youngest of 9 children to George Edmond and Mable Alice Leach-Parker. Kathleen married the love of her life, Carlton Chanel Valcourt, on September 2, 1961 at St. Lawerence Church in Cambridge. She dedicated her life to caring for her USAF serviceman and their two daughters through many moves from Europe to the US; her first trip in 1964. Shortly thereafter, Kathy took great pride in becoming an US Citizen and was always committed to voting. Kathy earned her US GED and went on to graduate from Durham College as Valedictorian with her business accounting degree. A huge spoon collection documents her worldwide travels. She enjoyed her quiet time in her garden, listening to music, as well as playing card games with family & friends. A good laugh made her day!
Kathy’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband, Carlton, and her loving daughters Helen Maloney, (Jeff Maloney) and Michelle Torma (Gabriel Torma) and her cherished grandchildren, JJ Maloney, Kayley Day (Josh), Zac Torma (Rachel), and Mitchell Maloney (Lauren) and delighted in organizing games and activities that filled their time together with laughter and love. She adored her five great-grandchildren, Laiken Maloney, Brenna Day, Brecken Maloney, Morgan Day, and Charles Torma.
A lifelong learner, Kathy embraced new electronic devices as well as kitchen gadgets that were introduced throughout her lifetime. She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, sharp wit and enduring kindness–a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A celebration of life/reception will be held Wednesday October 29, 2025, from 12:00pm-2:00pm at French Funerals on Wyoming Boulevard. A burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
