Kathleen S. Van Meter

Kathleen "Kay" S. Van Meter, age 61 years, of Elida, passed away at 2:59 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at her mother's residence, holding her husband's hand
Kay was born March 4, 1963, to Taylor and Patricia (McDonough) Miller. On September 9, 1995, she married Michael Van Meter who survives
Stranger to none, devoted wife of 29 years, mother and life long friend to the arts has passed away after a long battle with organ failure. She was known to her community for years of work with various non-profits, notably Art Space Lima.
She was born in Richmond, VA and attended New Kent County Schools and The Ohio State University-Lima.
She was preceded in death by Steve Miller, her beloved stepfather.
She is survived by her husband Michael Van Meter, her mother Patricia Miller, her father Taylor (Carol) Smith, her brother Calvert (Jill) Smith, her stepbrother Christopher (Shari) Miller, her daughter Paige (Nestor Herrera) Van Meter and her son Patrick (Stephanie Cluck) Van Meter.
The family appreciates the kind prayers and support offered up by all the lives Kay touched over the course of her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Kay's honor at The Church at Allentown on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Council for the Arts of Greater Lima.
