Kathryn "Kathy" Lynn Baughman, 62, of
Lodi, OH passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on February 8, 2026 with her devoted and loving husband of nearly 40 years by her side.
Kathy was born on January 29, 1964 in
Medina, OH to Clyde Cardwell Kincaid and Joan Barnes. She was a graduate of Cloverleaf High School in 1982, obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of Akron in 1986, received her graduate degree from Marygrove College, and additionally completed post-graduate education to remain current in her field.
Kathy influenced young lives teaching language arts for 34 years, almost all of which were at Cloverleaf Middle School. Here, she was recognized as "Teacher of the Year" and additionally led several academic organizations including Emerald Key and National Honor Society. She also delighted in taking many annual trips to Washington, D.C. with her eighth grade students.
Kathy was a member of Lodi United Methodist Church and her faith was important to her and was reflected in the way she conducted her life and raised her children; she believed in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She loved attending church with her family and singing her favorite hymns.
Kathy most enjoyed summertime when she could read by the pool and jet ski. She also treasured going to the theater and out to dinner. When the weather was less ideal in Ohio, she eagerly anticipated vacationing in Daytona Beach where she could go on long bicycle rides right on the beach. Whatever the activity, she was always happiest when she could be with her high school sweetheart and love of her life, or was surrounded by the family they created together. She especially cherished caring for and nurturing her grandsons.
Kathy will be profoundly missed by her husband, James Baughman; her daughters Brittany (Richard Garuckas) Baughman, Adrea (Joseph) Gracia, and Hannah (Brady Kotlarek) Baughman; her grandsons Caiden, Grayson, and Braxton; her sisters Kimberly (Mark) Anderson and Rachel Barnes; her brothers John (Samantha) Kincaid and Mark (Ashley) Kincaid; her step-mother Joanne Kincaid; and all her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
