Kathryn Kay Burch, a beloved matriarch, was born on January 25, 1939, in Salina, Kansas, and passed away on March 8, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center with her family by her side at the age of 86. She touched the lives of many with her unwavering kindness, warm spirit, and infectious sense of humor. Kathryn had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome and appreciated, embodying a nurturing presence that will be sorely missed.
Kathy cherished the moments spent with her family, particularly with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her heart brimmed with love as she created memories that would last a lifetime, whether they were camping under the stars, snowmobiling through winter's wonderland, or enjoying garage saling afternoons filled with laughter. She found joy fishing at Sanford Lake, indulging in her favorite meals at local restaurants, and sharing shopping trips filled with conversations and fun. Her furry companion, Zeus, was also a source of comfort and joy, by her side during many of life's adventures.
A devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Midland, Michigan, since 1987, Kathryn found strength and community within her faith, contributing her time and love to those around her. Her legacy is one of devotion and genuine commitment to family and friends, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know her.
Kathy is survived by her loving daughter, Kelly (Scott) Kloha, and their children: Heidi (Joel) Gesiakowski and their children, Tanner, Keaton, and Sofi; Holly (Chad) Roberts and their children, Scarlett and Madison; Corinne Bishop and their children, Annie and Wayland; and Brad (Katie) Bishop and their children, Karen and Harriet. Also remaining to honor her memory are her daughter, Terri (George) Slocum, and their children: Jason (Mollee) Neitzel; Joshua (Alicia) Neitzel and their children, Maddie and Mia; and Jeffrey (Tim) Neitzel. Additionally, she is remembered by her special friend, Lynn Spencer, her cherished nephew, Bruce (Judy) Rozek, and many friends who will carry her spirit forward.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Corinne (Swan) Gust; her husband, Erlyn Burch; her son-in-law, Mike Bishop; and her son-in-law, Craig (Lynn) Neitzel. Each of them played a significant role in her life, and their memories will remain intertwined with hers.
