It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Kathryn and David Miklowitz on August 15, 2024. This inseparable couple, united in marriage since 1976, left this world together, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and creativity.
Kathryn, daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Arasimowicz) Patryn, was a beacon of light and the heart of her home. As an outreach specialist for the Northeastern Association of the Blind at Albany, she dedicated her life to serving those in need with unwavering compassion and empathy. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life as she cherished her role as a mother and grandmother. Kathryn's passion for her dogs, particularly breeding toy poodles, was matched by her love for painting, fashion, and gardening. Her thoughtful nature shone brightly as she enjoyed showering her loved ones with gifts, always with the utmost consideration and love.
David, the son of the late Jack and Jessie (Przybylek) Miklowitz, was the epitome of hard work and dependability. As the proud owner and operator of D.J. Miklowitz Plumbing and Heating, he was known for his integrity and the high quality of his workmanship. David's humility and dry sense of humor endeared him to many. He was a man who relished the simple pleasures in life, from fishing and bowling to savoring craft beer and grilling for his family. His commitment to helping others and his hands-on approach to life were testaments to his character.
Together, Kathryn and David created a home filled with warmth and generosity. Their interests intertwined, with both enjoying boating on the Mohawk River and the tranquility of nature. Kathryn's love for art and style complemented David's love for music and the outdoors. This couple was the embodiment of what it means to live a full and loving life.
They leave behind their adored son, Brent Miklowitz and his wife Alicia, along with their cherished grandchildren, Bo and Moon Miklowitz. Kathryn is survived by her sister, Dorothy Patryn Mears, and was preceded in death by her brother, Stanley J. Patryn. David's memory will be honored by his sisters, Jill Del Zotto and Lorraine Terlato Gorman, as well as by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who were touched by their kindness and generosity.
Kathryn and David's shared journey through life was marked by a love that radiated to all who knew them. As a couple, they complemented each other perfectly, with Kathryn's creativity and David's practicality creating a harmonious balance.
In every aspect of their lives, Kathryn and David were guided by love. They were the kind of people who made a lasting impression on everyone they met, through small acts of kindness and their genuine interest in the wellbeing of others. Their absence will be felt deeply by their family, friends, and the community they loved.
Calling hours for Kathryn and David will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 3 pm – 6 pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville. A funeral service will be celebrated on Monday, August 26,2024 at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in their name may be made to the NAMI Capital Region NY (https://namicapitalregionny.org/). Online condolences www.glenvillefuneralhome.com

I knew Kathy and Dave many years ago but lost touch over the years. Never met nicer people than these two right here. May God bless their souls and those they leave behind.

I have so very many good memories as a child and young adult growing up with Kathy. So many memories I don't know where to begin. I am deeply saddened by this loss for Kathy's entire family. She was an incredibly wonderful woman and a friend that will remain in my heart for life. We shared many hopes and inspirations together growing up. It seems she achieved them all with so much enthusiasm and kindness in her life.
