Kathryn "Kitty" Anne Margaret Derveloy, of Springfield, Louisiana, passed away at East Jefferson General Hospital on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the age of 90. She was born on Tuesday, July 9, 1935, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Kathryn was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church community for many years, had a strong devoted faith and was a member of Dominican Laity. She had a degree in education and a masters degree that specialized in reading that she earned by going to night school while raising a family of 5 and full-time employment. She taught school at Springfield Elementary School for most of her career, and she was a volunteer at North Oaks Hospital for many years.
Kathryn is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Rose and Skipper Jenkins; daughter & son-in-law, Debi and David Harper; son & daughter-in-law, Craig and Gail Derveloy; son & daughter-in-law, Chris and Debbie Derveloy; son & daughter-in-law, Curtis and Marie Derveloy; grandchildren, Cheyenne Jenkins (Nikki), Luke Jenkins (Sherry), Andrea Harper, Dave Harper, Michelle Harper-Kowalczyk (Joe), Clint Derveloy (Miranda), Dominique Derveloy, Aarron Derveloy (Nicole), Christopher Derveloy (Kim), Michael Derveloy (Brian), Ashley Fanguy (Casey), Cory Derveloy; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Lawson, Lane, Phoenix, James, Bailey, Mallory, Jake, Cade, Kinslie, Olivia, Kayla, Kelsey, Dakota and Skylar; great-great-grandchildren, Reese and Koven.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Kathryn's caregiver, Mindie Khoury.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Carrol James Derveloy, parents, Louis Schick and Marie Claire deMonsabert, siblings, Delores, Louis Jr., Mela, Arthur and Andre.
Family and friends will be received at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 255 North 8th Street, Ponchatoula, on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday at 12:30 pm.
Interment will follow at St. Margaret Catholic Church Cemetery in Albany, Louisiana.
