Kathryn "Katie" A. Kiefer, age 92, of Nekoosa, WI passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital.
Katie was born on Sept. 20, 1929 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, to Frank and Johanna (Bushmaker) Jacoby. Katie co-owned and operated Hide-A-Way Supper Club for 13 years with her husband, William Kiefer. She was a member of the Women Auxiliary in Nekoosa. Katie was a great cook and could "muddle the best old fashioned drink". She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, and shaking dice at Camp Zip. She had a great sense of humor, twinkle in her eye and caring personality which made her loved by many. Most of all, Katie cherished her time spent spoiling her grandchildren.
Katie is survived by her son, Ron (Lori) Alft; brother, Franklin "Hunce" Jacoby; grandchildren, Cody Alft and Abbie (Jared) Clark; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Raya Clark; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends at Camp Zip. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Kiefer; brothers, Sylvester, Alvin and Virgil Jacoby; sisters, Gertrude Cumberland, Mabel Westover, and Margaret "Muggs" Novack; and ex-husband, Jerry Alft.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to thank Aspirus Riverview ER and Hospital, Heartland Hospice, and her friend Kelly who has helped Katie over the years, especially the last year.
