Kathyrn A Lints June 27, 1950 - November 28, 2025
Kathryn "Kathy" A Lints (Tracy), 75, passed away in the comfort of her home with her husband by her side on November 28, 2025. She was raised in Johnson City and resided in Vestal.
She is predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Helen Tracy, her brother and sister-in-law, William "Bill" and Brenda Tracy, and her son-in-law, Christopher "Chris" Brockway.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Walter; her sons PJ (Joann) and Corey (Marlene); daughter, Kelley; and her grandkids, Selena, Lucas, and Connor.
Kathy was a volunteer at the JC Home Public Library where she enjoyed going to help with Book Sales and chatting with people that came in. She was an avid reader and could often be found with a book in her hands, enjoying the mysteries of James Patterson, Sue Grafton, Lilian Jackson Braun and so many more. Kathy also enjoyed escaping into the magical world of Harry Potter where she often brought along her daughter Kelley and grandson Lucas. The magic will live on.
Kathy had a love of sun and sand, but where she lived the sand was hard to come by. When she did get near the coast it was to enjoy time spent searching for lighthouses and taking in the beauty of them with her husband. Along with the lighthouses she enjoyed watching birds and learning all she could about them. Her yard is a testament to that, she made sure they were fed, watered, housed and had the beauty of flowers to flit between dodging the squirrels. Her love of gardening for the ever changing seasons brought so much elegance and color to the yard.
Back in the day you might be surprised that you would often find Kathy roller skating with her daughter Kelley at Skate Estate multiple times a week. Though she might have appeared as a blur as she was often being whipped around the corners of the rink. Because of this we think it may have led to her later love of Nascar and going to races with her son Corey.
She often took long car rides on back roads with her dog Maude and her mom Helen, they would listen to country songs, watch nature and just enjoy where the car would take them... often ending up at McDonald's. Later on Lucas and Connor would be a part of the long car ride tradition, but the music selection changed slightly.
Kathy had a love of hot air balloons and even got to go up in one with her dad Ernest, she would say it was the most peaceful thing she had done and wanted to do again.
Kathy enjoyed routine breakfast outings with her cousins, MaryAnn and Patty, to gossip about everything under the sun and some good laughs.
She enjoyed Bunco Nights with her girls and could often be found causing trouble with her shenanigans.
Along with rolling the dice, Kathy could be found playing endless hours of Skip-bo with her grandson Connor.
One of Kathy's biggest joys in life was having the honor of being called grandma. The smile she would get when she was able to talk and brag about them was unmatched by any lighthouse beacon.
She had many other hobbies in life which included crocheting blankets for friends and family, laying in the sun by the pool or just floating around, visiting craft stores, eating at Red Lobster, learning about old British history and watching crime shows like CSI and Law and Order.
Kathy survived many struggles in her lifetime but never dwelled on them, she supported her family with a fierceness that was unmatched and would do all that she could for them. She was the glue that always brought them together, whether it was for the traditional Christmas Eve get together, the standard holiday summer picnic's which was one of her son PJ's favorite things or the birthdays with the homemade cakes of doom.
When you think of Kathy you think of a quick witted, sarcastic, strong and proud woman.
When we think of Kathy we think of the greatest wife, the best mother and the most giving and loving grandma you could ever have.
Until we meet again... Honey, Mom, Momma and Grandma.
