Kathryn "Kitty" M. Matenaer, 81, De Pere, passed away Monday afternoon, September 8, 2025. She was born August 12, 1944, in Horicon, Wisconsin to the late Judge Clarence and Rose (Habada) Traeger.
Kitty was a 1962 graduate of Horicon High School.
Kitty had worked as a secretary for Foxland Havrvestore for ten years, and then moved to Arizona where she worked as an Administrative Assistant for Hydro Aluminum for eighteen years. In 2003 she returned to Wisconsin, living in Rice Lake, where she worked in the office at Marketplace Foods.
Kitty enjoyed bowling, reading, fishing at her home in Rice Lake, and playing computer games.
She is survived by her children, John (Michelle) Kahl, and Stephanie (Mark) Hinch. Grandchildren; Erik Hinch, and Megan Hinch, her sister, Sister Nancy Carol Traeger, as well as her stepchildren, Maggie (Peter) Heilmann, John (Lisa) Matenaer, Steve (Lauri) Matenaer, and David (Kris) Matenaer.
Kitty was preceded in death by her three husbands, William A. Kahl, James J. Matenaer, whom she considered the love of her life, and Louis Neuville. She was also preceded in death by her brothers; Tom, George, John, and James Traeger.
Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 1305 Lourdes Ave., De Pere from 10:30AM Wednesday, September 17, 2025, until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00PM with Fr. James Baraniak O.Praem. officiating. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere, is assisting the family.
