Kathryn D. Self

Kathryn Danette Self, age 52, of Knotts Island, NC died on Friday, February 18, 2022 at her residence. She was born in Norfolk, VA on July 22, 1969 to the late Jim Self and Phyllis Flora Self. Kathryn was known as a fighter and an inspiration to many. Having a heart of gold, she loved animals and had two dogs and four cats of her own, most being rescue animals.
She is survived by a brother, Jeff Self and wife Melissa and their children, Dylan and Cameron; her boyfriend, Sean Rhodes; and her cousins and numerous friends who will all cherish her memory.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Twiford Memorial Chapel officiated by Pastor Kevin Reiver. The family will receive friends in the lobby of the funeral home following the service. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909 is assisting the Self family.
