Kathryn V. Sentz

Katheryn V. "Kathy" (Groft) Sentz, age 82, of McSherrystown, entered God's eternal care on July 8, 2024 at West Shore Hospital. She was the wife of Eugene F. "Pete" Sentz for 65 years and a graduate of Delone Catholic High School.
Kathryn was born in York County, PA on November 29, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Robert and Martha (Seymore) Groft.
As young parents, Kathy and Pete owned Bresler's Ice Cream Shoppe in the North Hanover Mall, but most of her working-years were spent doing customer service and sales at Columbia Jewlers. She enjoyed going to Ocean City, MD, shopping, spending time with her family, and "playing the jars" while sipping a beer at the "K", also known as the McSherrystown Knights of Columbus.
In addition to her adoring husband Pete, Kathryn is survived by her daughter: Lori Laughman and her husband Randy; her daughter-in-law: Stephanie (Noel) Sentz; three grandchildren: Jared Roomsburg, Rebecca (Sentz) King, and Christie (Sentz) Kennedy; and 5 great-grandchildren: Morgan, Kendall, and Wyatt Roomsburg, Skylee King, and Kelsea Kennedy. She is also survived by her brothers: Robert, Eugene, and Greg Groft. She was preceded in death by her son David A. Sentz.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Kathryn's life will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 2:00PM at Murphy-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, PA 17344 with Rev. Bonnie J. Whittier officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 1:00PM – 2:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
