Kathryn Sue Sorensen

Kathryn "Kathy" Sorensen, 82, of Yorkville, IL passed away, Thursday, November 6, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 9, 1942 in Aurora, IL the daughter of G. Kenneth and Frances (LaGow) Roach. Kathy graduated from Yorkville High School. She married James Sorensen on August 14, 1965. Kathy retired from Oswego Excavating after several years of dedicated service. She was a member of the Yorkville American Auxiliary.

Kathy built a life centered around love, kindness, and faith. She was the heart of her family, always ready with a warm smile, comforting words, and a home that welcomed everyone. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loved ones and her pets, celebrating every moment big or small and making sure everyone felt cared for.

Kathy is survived by her 2 children, Brian (Michele) Sorensen of Somonauk and Marcia (Andy) Pakenham of Newark; 3 grandchildren, David (Saron) Lynn, Heather (Quinten) Lindsley and Jeannette (Tim) Fichtel; 11 great grandchildren; her brother, Doug (Crystal) Roach; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Sorensen of Dwight; 3 nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; her sister, Rita (Fred) Settles.
