Kathryn E. "Kate" Steeb, age 95, of Zelienople, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023 while under the care of Concordia at Villa St. Joseph.
Born June 29, 1928 in Zelienople, she was the daughter of the late John E. Knauer and Mabel Alben Knauer.
Kate was a member of St. Peter's Reformed Church in Zelienople, where she served as the church secretary for 25 years. More recently and until her passing, she served as a library assistant and earlier in her career was the bookkeeper at the Zelienople Public Library, where she recently celebrated 40 years of employment. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Lisa Salak and her husband, Michael, of Zelienople; her grandchildren, Grant Salak of Pittsburgh, Evan Salak and his wife, Alexis, of Raleigh, NC, Jeremy Salak and his fiancé, Samantha Oliver of Groton, CT, and Natalie West and her husband, Cody, of Raleigh, NC; her sister, Mary Lou Pietrusinski of Zelienople; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Kate was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. "Carl" Steeb; and her sisters, Betty Steeb and Annabelle "Belle" Davey.
Friends will be received from 12 P.M. until the time of the funeral service at 2 P.M. on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Boylan Funeral Home, Inc., 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, PA 16063.
She will be laid to rest at the Zelienople Community Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her honor to the Zelienople Public Library, 227 S. High St., Zelienople, PA 16063 (https://zelienoplelibrary.org/).
