Kathryn L. Vanderpool, 63
Kathryn L. "Kathy" Vanderpool, 63 of Nova passed away Friday, June 14, 2024 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
She was born on December 19, 1960 in Mansfield, Ohio the daughter of Vernon and Mary (nee Knight) Cline.
Kathy married the love of her life, Rodney Keith Vanderpool on February 9, 1980.
She retired after more than 23 years as a custodian from Crestview Local Schools in 2022.
Throughout her life, she was an avid Ohio sport enthusiast including the Cleveland Indians, the Ohio State University and the Cleveland Browns. Kathy enjoyed traveling on bus trips, studying genealogy, shopping for bargains at both flea markets and garage sales, but most of all attending her grandchildren's sporting events.
Kathy is survived by her daughter, Krystal (Ken) Abshire of Nova; four grandchildren, Brookelyn Abshire, Jonathon (fiancée Sara Hobart) Abshire, Keith Abshire, and Kathryn Abshire; her mother, Mary Cline of Mansfield; one sister, Debra (Dean) Parsons of Mansfield; one brother, Michael (Carolyn) Cline of Shiloh; numerous nieces and nephews; her dear friends, Cherie Free of Mansfield and Pam Conn of Mansfield; and 41 year Louisiana pen pal, Gladys.
Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Vernon Cline and her loving husband of 32 years, Rodney Keith Vanderpool who passed away on January 17, 2013.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Doug Fitch presiding. Family and friends are asked to wear casual OSU and Cleveland Indians attire. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Immediately following the service, a meal and time of fellowship will be held in the Legacy Room of the funeral home. Private burial will be in the Vanderpool Family Cemetery.
