Matthew Alan Egan, 49, of Wintersville, Ohio, formerly of Columbus, Ohio, passed peacefully at UPMC Montefiore after an extended illness. He was a graduate of Buckeye Local High School and attended The Ohio State University. Throughout his life, Matt worked in a variety of roles, including managing a video store and a convenience store/gas station in Columbus for many years. He later devoted himself to caring for his father full-time.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael J. Egan; his aunt, Patricia Egan; paternal grandparents, Joseph M. and Elizabeth Egan; and maternal grandparents, Adrian and Philamena McQuistion.

Matt is survived by his mother, Anita McQuistion of Circleville, OH; his brother, Joseph (Stephanie) Egan of McArthur, OH; nephews Nathan and Grayson; and nieces Katie and Sydney. He also leaves behind his very special friends Molly Sinclair and family (Pittsburgh, PA), and Jimmy and Lorrie Raymond and family (Bloomingdale, OH). Additional survivors include his uncle, Michael (Vickie) McQuistion; five aunts: Melanie Gray, Pat (Leif Johnson) McQuistion, Kathy (Mitch) Fries, Bernadette (Mark) Mulholand, and Carol McQuistion Marquise and their children.

Matt loved his two cats, Lilly and Stan Lee, and was an avid sports fan, especially of The Ohio State University, Notre Dame, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Columbus Blue Jackets, and anything golf.
