Kathy Bohn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Smith Funeral Home - Anadarko on Aug. 27, 2024.
Kathy Jo (McClure) Bohn was born on April 16, 1949, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, to George Washington "GW" McClure and Mary Lue (Martin) McClure. She passed from this life on August 25, 2024, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, at the age of 75.
Kathy was a graduate of the Verden High School in 1967. After high school she received her Beautician License in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Kathy accepted Christ at an early age and she devoted her life to being a godly example. She was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Anadarko.
Kathy was a lady of many talents and did whatever it took to see that her children were taken care of. She owned and operated a beauty shop in Anadarko for many years. She drove a 18 wheeler hauling grain in the early seventies. Kathy added to her ever growing abilities when she owned and operated a couple of greenhouses and flower shops in Anadarko for several years. She also was a manager at Sally Beauty Supply. There was truly nothing she couldn't do; if she put her mind to it you knew she would succeed.
Kathy had a passion for cooking and teaching her family her tips and tricks for the best dishes. In her early years she enjoyed traveling to see various landmarks around the United States. She liked to go camping and fishing. Kathy was an avid crafter, she enjoyed designing and creating things for family members every chance she got. Kathy had a lovely singing voice and she traveled and blessed others with that gift through gospel music.
Kathy was a huge giver, where she saw a need she always did what she could to meet that need. She was a friend to many but above all that she was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family was her greatest gift and she cherished every moment that she had with them. She taught them that hard work and determination always pays off. Kathy always put her families needs above her own and made sure each of them knew how loved they were. Her legacy and memory will live on in each of them. She leaves a gap that could never be filled.
Left to cherish the memory of Kathy are her children, Garri McClure and wife Amanda of Anadarko, Oklahoma, Krista Brumfield of Lawton, Oklahoma, Barry Jefferson "BJ" Bohn and wife Krissy of Marlow, Oklahoma, step-daughter Tammy Soden and husband Bill of De Queen, Arkansas, sister, Teresa McDuffey and husband Larry of Anadarko, grandchildren, Aleigha, Abbi, Chris, and Brayden, and great grandchild, Sunni.
She is preceded in death by her parents, GW and Mary McClure, brother, Don Ray McClure, niece, Darci McDuffey, first husband, Randal Ross, and second husband, Ronald Ray Bohn.
A graveside service to honor the life of Kathy is set to begin at 2:00 PM, on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.smithfuneralservice.com
