Kathy Diane Fleming, age 66, passed away on June 15, 2025, in Spartanburg, SC. Born on January 6, 1959, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Jack Edward Fleming, Sr. and Ruth Helen Morrow.
Kathy's early years were spent in Los Angeles, California, before returning to South Carolina with her family in 1978. She cherished her time there, nurturing a deep love for the beautiful outdoors, particularly fishing, which brought her happiness. Kathy's fondness for animals was also a defining characteristic of her life; she always opened her heart and home to several dogs and shared a special bond with her Blue Macaw, for over twenty years.
A dedicated real estate broker, Kathy's career also included valued roles at Borden Foods and as a pest control technician. Kathy was also deeply involved in her family's real estate business, assisting her mother and father in managing Sunshine Realty. Her professional journey was marked by her commitment to helping others find their homes, a pursuit she embraced throughout her life.
In the spirit of community and camaraderie, Kathy, along with her friends Linda and Jerry Fortner, operated the beloved bar called “Hooziers,” where she created countless memories and connections that left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
She is survived by her brother, Jackie Fleming, Jr. of Spartanburg. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, David and Glen Fleming.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, June 26, 2025, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. The service will be conducted by The Rev. Tommy Sparks.
