Kathy Hollinger

Kathleen Alice “Kathy” Hollinger, age 78, died Thursday, October 16, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born January 7, 1947 in Riverside, California to Willis Gene Crall and Olive Mae McDonald. On May 3, 1984 she married Merlin Bruce Hollinger in La Plata, Maryland. 

As Kathy grew up, her stepfather (Nicholas Anthony) was in the US Air Force, giving occasion for Kathy to experience many different cultures and people as she lived in Japan, Germany and Florida. She graduated from Port Hueneme High School in California. She developed a good work ethic, as early as food service in high school, then as dental assistant and later as an information systems analyst for the U.S. government. She lived in Washington DC from 1981 – 1986 before moving to Sunnyvale, California to work for Lockheed Martin. For twenty years Logandale, Nevada was her home as she volunteered in the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Auxiliary. Finally in 2019 she moved to North Las Vegas.

Kathy loved animals. She had a soft spot for dogs and cats and volunteered to the local vets and shelters, often fostering animals. She supported the SPCA to protect animals from cruelty. She asks that in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Animal charity of your choice. 

Survivors include her husband, Bruce; daughter Shelly (Cindy Ellis) Lawless of Las Vegas, NV; step daughters, Jill (Del) Kolbe of Austin, TX; Lisa (Perry Fink) Hollinger of Frisco, TX and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Jacklin.

A Memorial Visitation will be held in her honor on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary, 5090 N. Moapa Valley Blvd., Logandale, NV. Inurnment services are Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 1:20 p.m. at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial, Boulder City, NV. A Celebration of her life is scheduled for November 13, 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m at the Elk’s Lodge, 2939 Van der Meer Street, North Las Vegas NV.
