Kathy Hooper Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Weatherford Mortuary - Oak Ridge on Oct. 1, 2025.
Kathy Hooper, beloved mother and daughter, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
She was 64 years old. Kathy received her degree in nursing from Tennessee Technological University and worked at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge and Park West Hospital in Knoxville Tennessee. During her career, she touched countless lives with her kindness and generosity. She attended Oak Ridge High School and graduated in 1979. There she was a member of the marching band and track/field team throughout high school. She was also active with the local women's softball church league and was a tremendous first baseman. Kathy's love for nurturing things was evident in her love for animals of all kinds. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren.
Proceeded in death by her father, Charles A. Hooper.
Survived by her mother, Evelyn L. Hooper, Karen Sharp (Phil) and daughter Lindsey Vaughn (Josh). Grandchildren Andy, Lilly and Olly. And many other relatives, friends and loved ones.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Norris Rehabilitation Center for their wonderful care they provided. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park (Garden of Love) at 1 pm.
