Kathy A. Jensen

Kathy A. Jensen, 70, Dilworth, MN, passed away on October 31, 2023, at Essentia Health in Fargo.

Kathy Ann Coughlin was born March 19, 1953, in Fargo, ND to Marvin and Rose (Ellingson) Coughlin.  She attended elementary school in West Fargo, ND, and high school in Dilworth and West Fargo.  It was in Dilworth, Kathy met Maurice "Maury" Jensen.  They were united in marriage June 10, 1972.  

After completing her education, Kathy embarked on a fulfilling career. She worked at Dakota Hospital in Fargo and as a hostess at Rex Cafe in Moorhead.  She soon began helping Maury with the family woodworking business. 

Outside of work, Kathy found joy in various hobbies and interests. She enjoyed painting ceramics for her family, crocheting blankets for her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, sewing, and attending estate auctions.

While Kathy had many accomplishments throughout her life, nothing brought her greater pride than being a mother to her three daughters: Kristy, Kim, and Stacey. She poured immeasurable love into raising them and provided unwavering support throughout their lives. Kathy's greatest joy was her grandchildren. Nothing gave her greater pleasure than spending time with them and going to their programs and sporting events.

In addition to being an exceptional mother and grandmother, Kathy cultivated meaningful friendships wherever she went. Her kindheartedness touched the lives of many, and her loyal and caring nature made her a treasured friend to those fortunate enough to know her. Kathy had an innate ability to make everyone around her feel seen and valued. Her genuine interest in others left a lasting impression.

Kathy will be remembered and missed by her husband of 51 years, Maurice “Maury” of Dilworth; daughters,  Kristy (Tyler) Gifford of Phoenix, AZ, Kim (Shannon) Fischer of Glyndon, MN, and Stacey Jensen of Dilworth; grandchildren, Gage and Lily Gifford, Levi, Hunter and Bryce Fischer, and Jacob Jensen; great-grandchildren, Braxtyn, Peyton and Easton Fischer; one sister, Shirley Claypool of Bemidji, MN; sister-in-law, Donna (Ronnie) Tang of Felton, MN; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and great-great nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers.

Visitation for Kathy will be held Friday, November 10, 2023 in Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service from 5pm-7pm with a 7pm Prayer Service.   Her funeral service will be Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 1pm in Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service of Moorhead.
