Obituary of Kathy Joan Kreitler
Kathy Joan (nee Wiles) Kreitler, age 69, of Franklin Township, NJ, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024, in Flemington, NJ. Born April 27, 1955, in Somerville, NJ, and raised in Long Valley, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Edna (nee Stillwell) and the late Claude L. Wiles.
Kathy was a 1973 graduate of West Morris High School. She furthered her education in cosmetology earning a degree from Wilford Beauty Academy. Kathy successfully owned and operated Sheer Degrees for over forty years, creating many friendship bonds with her clients.
On September 16, 1989, Kathy married the love of her life, Roger. They were blessed on October 10, 2003, when they adopted their pride and joy from Belarus, Claudia. Kathy treasured every moment of the time she spent making precious memories with Roger and Claudia.
Kathy had a passion for riding horses, even owning her own horse at one point. She loved her three dogs, Zulu, Jet and Ginger who gave her great joy. Kathy's family and friends often enjoyed the meals she made, as she was known as a fantastic cook. Kathy had an affinity towards hummingbirds. Every spring, Kathy looked forward to them returning to the area. She always made sure the hummingbird feeder was filled so she could delightfully watch them. In her free time, she could be found gardening or spending time with her forever best friend, Debra Wolfe. She was resourceful, using her skills to build her own her own fishpond and the patio under her hot tub. Kathy touched the lives of many and will continue to live in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Kathy will be forever missed by her husband, Roger Kreitler; daughter, Claudia Kreitler; best friend, Debra Wolfe; sister-in-law Juliann Tremaine and her husband Donald; niece, Melissa Carpenter and her husband Joe; nephew, Matt Tremaine and his wife Erica; and her great-niece, Genevieve.
Kathy is predeceased by her parents, Edna and Claude Wiles; and her brother, Claude Wiles.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathy's name may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital.
Family and friends are invited to visit with Kathy's family on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm with a service beginning at noon at Martin Funeral Home located at 1761 Rt.31, Clinton, NJ 08809. Internment will directly follow at Lower Valley Union Cemetery located at County Rd. 513, Califon, NJ 07830.
