Kathy McIntire

Kathy McIntire, age 76, of Waverly, Il. died late Friday (February 13, 2026) at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, Il.

She was born July 29, 1948, in Springfield, Il. daughter of the late Stanley and Lorraine Sharp Bilski.

Surviving is her daughter, Lori Wernsing (Philip) of Springfield, Il.; longtime companion Michael Turner of Modesto, Il.; six grandchildren, Megan, Jeffrey, Paige, Kyle, Tiara, and Jozsef; five great-grandchildren; her siblings, Stanley Bilski of New Mexico, and Helen Smith of Jacksonville, Il.; and one niece.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death and by a son, Jim McIntire.

Kathy graduated Franklin High School and was an accountant with the State of Illinois for over 30 years before her retirement. Kathy also was an election judge for many years in Waverly. She loved to travel all over the United States and was an avid race fan, going to the Indianapolis 500 for the race and time trials for many years. She enjoyed taking care of grandchildren and spending time with her family.

Private services will be held with burial in Waverly East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Waverly Senior Center and sent to Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home, 349 E. Tanner, Waverly, Il. 62692. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.airsman-hires.com.
