Kathy Overly Wright Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 21, 2025.
Kathy Irene Overly Wright went home to be with her Lord Thursday morning, November 20, 2025. She was born March 2, 1948 in Bay City, daughter of the late John J. and Charlotte L. (Seward) Overly. After graduating from Meridian High School, Kathy worked in various capacities, eventually settling with home health care, a job she loved for over 24 years. Kathy enjoyed simple things in life like a good card game or simply watching the Hallmark Channel. More than anything, she was a devoted mother who put every ounce of energy into caring for her daughter.
Kathy is survived by her son, James (Trish) Wright; daughter, Tonjia Wright; granddaughter Sabrina Wright Nowak, who held a special place in her heart; siblings, Rick (Jeri) Overly, Peggy Overly, Jackie (Carmen) Overly, Cindy (Robert) Overly Hall Briggs, and Randy Overly; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wright and her sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Kenneth Bauer.
Graveside services for Kathy will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2025 in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. All of us at Ware Smith Woolever are honored the Overly Wright family has entrusted us with the care of their loved one.
