Kathy Rothert, of Adena, Ohio and born on October 6, 1955, passed away unexpectedly on August 28, 2025, at the age of 69, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Kathy was a dedicated and compassionate professional who served as a Ward Secretary at the former Ohio Valley Medical Center (OVMC) in Wheeling, West Virginia. In her role, she was responsible for managing daily operations and communications within the hospital ward, contributing significantly to the smooth functioning of the healthcare environment.

Beyond her professional life, Kathy was known for her commitment to volunteer work, particularly at the Oglebay Good Zoo in Wheeling. She found joy in traveling and painting, hobbies that enriched her life with beauty and adventure. Kathy was also a Catholic by faith.

Kathy is preceded in death by her loving parents, Smith "Smitty" and Jean Applegarth. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Dale Rothert, and three brothers.

Kathy and Dale shared a simple yet profoundly fulfilling life, always cherishing each other's company and making their world revolve around one another. Their bond was one of mutual respect, love, and shared adventures.

In accordance with the family's wishes, there will be no public services. Kathy will be laid to rest at Linwood Cemetery in Blaine, Ohio. Friends and family are invited to share memories and condolences at www.altmeyerfuneralhomes.com.
