Shawn Lee Works, born on November 20, 1975, in Wheeling, West Virginia, passed away on August 18, 2025, at the age of 49, at WVU-Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Shawn was a man with a big heart who deeply loved his family. He was an avid fan of the Washington Commanders NFL Team, and his passion for the game was well-known among those who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Belinda Sue Works (Mitchell); his brother, John Conrad; and his grandparents, Robert and Cleon Mitchell, and George and Vivian Works.

Shawn is survived by his father, Alvin Leroy Works; his son, Travis; his brother, Robert Conrad; and his sister, Leisa Runyon and her husband David, and Shawn's twin sister, Dawn Works and her fiancé John as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. His family and friends will remember him fondly for his warmth and generosity.
