Katie M. Burkit

Katie M. (Aides) Burkit, 84, of Fountain Hill, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 5, 2022 surrounded by her loving family while in the care of Scenic View Personal Care in Palmerton, PA. She was the wife of the late William A. Burkit. Born in Georgia, she was the daughter of the late James Aides and Lelia (Clark) Hushen. After raising her three boys, Katie co-owned and operated Burma Porcelain. She had a great fondness for animals. Over the years, Katie spent her time nurturing and nursing wild animals back to health. Above all, Katie loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

SURVIVORS: She will be lovingly remembered by her son Mark A. Burkit and his wife Lynn of Danielsville; step brothers Tom Aides and his wife Jackie of FL and James Aides, Jr. of TN; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons Edward W. and Nathan A. Burkit.

SERVICES: A Memorial Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway Fountain Hill, PA 18015 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 A.M. until time of the service. Burial will take place at Holy Saviour Cemetery. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
