Katrina Tyler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Click Funeral Home & Cremations - Middlebrook Chapel on Aug. 28, 2023.
Katrina Tidwell Tyler, age 57, passed away in a single vehicle accident near her home, Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
Katrina shared her home in Knoxville with her husband of 33 years, Barry Tyler. She was born in Slidell, LA, on November 3, 1965. She grew up in Merritt Island, FL and moved to Knoxville, TN at the age of eleven. She graduated high school from Farragut in 1983. She received an Associate of Science degree in 1987 from Roane State Community College, and then attended the University of Tennessee, where she graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She married Barry Tyler in 1990 and started her career in the nuclear industry in Oak Ridge, TN. She held various jobs in Oak Ridge before working for the State of Tennessee's Department of Health in 2005, where she remained for 16 years and retired in 2021.
She is survived by her husband Barry, Judson their dog, many extended family members including 12 nieces and nephews, and countless others who refer to her as Aunt Katrina.
She was lovingly known as "FAKT" or "favorite aunt KT" by many. She was involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters and other charitable organizations for many years. She was avid Tennessee Vols fan, enjoyed spending time with friends and family, playing Bunco, and recently had developed an interest in playing cornhole and cooking in their new kitchen. Katrina loved taking beach vacations in Florida where she spent some of her youth. She had a very generous spirit and a soft spot in her heart for all dogs, especially her own. Others would describe her as one with an exuberant passion for life and a lively personality. She had a memorable impact on her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed by all.
Services honoring and remembering Katrina will be held at 6:00 PM, Thursday, August 31, 2023 in the Click Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM prior to the service. Family is requesting casual and comfortable attire for the service.
