Kay Allen Obituary

Visit the Cremation Society of New Hampshire - Brattleboro website to view the full obituary.

Kay Doreen (McNeil) Allen, 78, died on October 31, 2025, after a 2-year battle with a rare form of pneumonia. She was born on May 8th, 1947, in East Stroudsburg, PA, the daughter of Warren McNeil and Blanche (Mery) McNeil. She was the widow to Russell Allen Jr. They were married on June 29th, 1991, in Easton, PA.

Kay attended Easton Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1968. She was a Registered Nurse and worked in hospitals in both Pennsylvania and New Hampshire. She retired from Northampton County in 2002, where she worked as a psych nurse for 20 years.

Kay enjoyed antiquing and collecting what she called her “pretties”. Anyone who has ever been to her house would have seen all of these “pretties” displayed throughout. She loved traveling with her husband and one of her favorite spots was on Mohegan Island. She was also an avid reader. There was never a time that she didn’t have a book in process. She, of course, enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, and her great-great grandchildren. She also enjoyed her many, many friends. She was a fierce friend, having more friends from her youth that most could claim. She loved so many and was loved by so many.

Kay was survived by her daughter Jill and son in law Jim; her sons Bob and Kevin and his wife Patty; her grandchildren: Adam and his partner Kat, Jade and their partner Vianca, Michael and his wife Ameila, Dalton and his partner Cassie, Kevin Jr., Jessica and her partner Larry, Oden and his husband Chris, Alice, Seth and his partner Brian, Joel and his wife Paula, and Ian; her great grandchildren: Emily and her partner Caleb, Aleia, Sophia, Alana, Julianna, Elizabeth, Chloe, Lily and Luke; and her great-great grandchildren, Raven and Noah. She was predeceased by her husband Russell and her daughter in law Marinell.

SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Friday December 5th, 2025, at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery at 110 Daniel Webster Hwy Boscawen, NH in their chapel.
