Kay Elizabeth Breon, 89, of Yeagertown, passed away peacefully on Friday May 23, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on May 8, 1936, to J. Elder Goss and Mabel (Steinberger) Goss, Kay lived a life marked by compassion, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. A graduate of Chief Logan High School, Class of 1954, Kay went on to pursue her calling in nursing, earning her diploma from the Lewistown Hospital School of Nursing in 1957. Her career as a registered nurse was not just a profession, but a true vocation-one that exemplified her deep care for others and her natural ability to comfort those in need. She retired from Lewistown Hospital in 2001. Whether in a hospital setting or among friends and neighbors, Kay's nurturing spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Beyond her profession, Kay was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was known for her warm heart and welcoming home-a place filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the lives she touched. Kay was married to Willis Breon for 66 years. Their marriage was a beautiful example of enduring love and partnership. (Willis preceded her in death in August 2024.) She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings: Dorothy Pepple, Gladys Huggler, and James Goss Jr., and her daughter-in-law, Kimbra Breon. She is survived by her children: Dennis Breon and wife Kathy, of Mifflintown, Terri Ward and husband Robert, of Westminster, MD, Roger Breon, of Yeagertown, Sue Ciccolini and husband Darwin, Jr. of McVeytown, and step-son Willis Breon Jr. of Lewistown. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward with love. A service to celebrate Kay's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday May 26, 2025 at King Funeral Home and Crematory, 47 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville, with Pastor Ray Shutt officiating. There will be a viewing held at the funeral home from Noon until time of service. Interment will follow in Maitland Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Kay's memory are respectfully encouraged to a charity or church of one's choice. Online condolences can be shared with the family at www.kingbarrfuneralhome.com
