Kay Joan Geroy

God has called Kay Geroy to His Heavenly Home on December 3, 2016. She had been surrounded by the power of prayer and by family members and friends during the time of her heroic struggle.
Born in 1933 in Miamisburg, OH to Ralph and Violet Garner, she was an only child. As a teenager, she competed in several beauty competitions including the Miss Ohio Pageant and was a professional fashion model.
She attended Dayton Art Institute, equipping her for a successful career in retail advertising in Dayton, Atlanta and Winston-Salem.
She was a professional voice-over for radio commercials and created ads, brochures and catalogs for various businesses. Some of her many hobbies included oil paintings and creating wall murals. She was a whiz on her computer, too.
Kay and her family moved to Naples in 1978 to become full-time residents. Immediately involved in community outreach, she served eight years as a director of the United Way of Collier County and was liaison with Fun Time Nursery. She was also an advisor to Project Help, Inc.
She loved boating and was a member of the Naples Cruise Club for 28 years where she served as long-time editor of the club's monthly newsletter, 'SaltSpray.' The club honored her with a Life Membership.
Her strong Christian faith centered on her 38-year membership at Naples' St. John's Episcopal Church where she served as a Vestry member and Senior Warden. She also chaired the Outreach Commission and was the editor of the parish's monthly newsletter, 'ParishLife,' for more than 30 years. Kay's circle of close friends emerged from this church.
Kay is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert, and two sons, Christopher (Teresa) of Mitchell, SD and Todd (Kerry) of Naples and three grandchildren, Matthew, Benjamin and Sarah, all of Naples.
Everyone with whom she came in contact, family, friends and strangers, felt the warmth of her caring personality, beautiful smile, sense of humor, happy demeanor and the love of her Lord. Rest in Peace, Kay.
A celebration of Kay's life will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, 500 Park Shore Drive, Naples, FL 34103 at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2016. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to St. John's, marked for 'Outreach.'
