A Celebration of Life Visitation for Kay Lafferty, age 70, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025, will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home.

Services are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

A native of Picayune, MS, she was a music teacher and a member of the Baptist Faith. With her father being a member of the United States Air Force, Kay moved to various places as a child, such as Maine and Shreveport, LA. She ended up moving to Picayune, MS during her high school years, where she has resided ever since.

Kay graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor's Degree in Music. Afterward, she taught within both the Picayune and Pearl River County Public School Systems. Kay also taught private music lessons for adults and children over many decades.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren Barnett and Bobby Nell Daughdrill Barnett.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of over 50 years, Jim Lafferty; and her sister, Judy (Roger) Clements of Saucier, MS.
