Kay Ann (Shepherd) McKone, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and devoted Christian, passed away in her home on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the age of 69, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 30, 1954, Kay's life was a testament to love, faith, and the joy found in the company of family and friends.
Kay is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Kelly McKone, married September 20, 1975; their three loving children, Adam (Christina) McKone, Amy (Kevin) Bartley, Andrew (Kara) McKone; her adored grandchildren, Kyle, Ashley, Caden, Matthew, Owen, Adalyn, Elise, Jace, Judah, Allie, and Everly; sister, Elaine (Joe) Kincaid; brothers, Rick (Vickie) Shepherd, and Randy (Barbette) Shepherd; several uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Shepherd; father, Jack Shepherd; and two unborn children, Alexander and Ann, who she has now been reunited with in Heaven. Her legacy extends through her children's marriages, creating a close-knit family that remains united in love and support.
Kay was a proud graduate of Corunna High School, where she met her highschool sweetheart, Kelly. She continued her education at Agape Faith Bible School, further deepening her spiritual journey. Kay's strong Christian faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found immense joy and strength in her relationship with God.
After dedicating years at home raising each of her children, Kay then went on to work at General Motors before embracing retirement life with Kelly. Her hard work and commitment to excellence were evident throughout her professional life, leaving a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of working alongside her.
Kay's love for her family was unwavering, and she cherished every moment spent with her husband, children, their spouses, and grandchildren. She was a source of wisdom, kindness, and unconditional love, creating a home filled with warmth and laughter. Family vacations were a special highlight for Kay, creating cherished memories that will endure for generations to come.
A faithful member of her local church community, Kay found solace and inspiration in her spiritual journey. Her presence at church gatherings, her involvement in various ministries, and her commitment to living out her Christian values reflected the depth of her faith.
Kay Ann McKone will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her unwavering faith, and the love she shared with all who were fortunate enough to know her. While she may no longer be physically present, her memory lives on in the hearts of those who were touched by her kindness, compassion, and grace. May Kay rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of her Creator, and may her memory continue to inspire those who were blessed to share in her journey.
