Michael Alan Cobleigh, age 79, of Montrose, Michigan, who resided in Byron for the past 12 years, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025. He was born on May 18, 1946, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Lawrence and Leona Cobleigh.

After graduating from high school, Michael enlisted in the U.S. Army where proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Once he returned home from the war, he went on to work and retire from Fisher Body, where he was known for his hard work and dedication. After his time there, Mike continued to work a variety of jobs, including starting his own company with his daughter installing hardwood flooring. Above all, Michael was a devoted family man. Family was truly the center of his life, and he will be remembered for the love and guidance he gave to all who knew him.

Michael had many passions throughout his life. He loved fishing, shooting pool, and dancing to oldies music. Outgoing, caring, and selfless, he was always willing to lend a hand. He was always willing to help someone in need, even a total stranger. Michael's main priority was taking care of his family, he also found joy in giving back, supporting causes dear to his heart, such as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Michael is survived by his loving daughter, Marie Taylor; grandchildren Michael Cobleigh Jr., Mark Cobleigh, Mitchael Cobleigh, Thomas McDowell, and Joshua Taylor; great-grandchildren Haileigh Cobleigh, Aiden Cobleigh, Asher Cobleigh, Brayden McDowell, Isabella McDowell, Elena Cobleigh, Arya Cobleigh, and Ellie Cobleigh; his sister, Joyce (Emerson) Cromwell; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Nora Cobleigh; his son, Michael Cobleigh; his grandson, Matthew Cobleigh; his sisters, Katherine Clark and Irene Thick; and his brother, Lawrence Cobleigh.

A funeral service honoring Michael's life will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes - Durand Chapel, located at 501 N. Saginaw St., Durand, MI. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 PM until the time of the service.
