Kayleen Marie Padilla, 16, died Sunday, August 24, 2025, at her home in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on July 13, 2009, in Garden City, Kansas the daughter to Moses Padilla & Aloysia Rios.

Kayleen was many things to many people-a loving daughter, a protective sister, and a charismatic, compassionate friend. She had an energy that drew people in-warm, quick-witted, and full of life (and full of chatter). Kayleen could light up any room she entered-her laughter was infectious, her presence unforgettable. You would never know the strength it took to fight her silent battles; she carried them with grace, never letting them dim the light she so freely gave to others. Our prayer is that the light she shared will grow in the hearts of all she impacted, guiding their path and inspiring them to share it with others.

Survivors include her Father- Moses & Megan Padilla; Mother- Aloysia Rios; Siblings- Kenton Rios, Alexzandria Guzman, Kaycen Amos, Javi Venegas and Tallon Padilla; Grandparents- Pete & Heidi Rios, Tina & Keith Skorup, Mercedes Centeno, Isidoro Padilla and Mary Amos; Great-Grandparents- Erminia Rios, John & Jerri Wheeler and Reba Heath. Many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her Great Grandpa- Pete G. Rios; Uncle- Gabriel Rios and Cousin- Jerod Amos.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, at First Southern Baptist Church in Garden City with Pastor John Harms officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Garnand Funeral Home. Family suggests memorials be given to Kayleen Padilla Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
