Funeral Services will be held Sunday, November 27, 2022, 1:00 pm at Orange Grove Missionary Baptist Church (505 East End Ave. Durham, NC 27703). The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Durham.
A public viewing will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022 at American Cremation & Funeral Service from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. The family will receive friends during the hours of 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Send flowers to the service of Keir Witherspoon

To Keir´s Family-
I am so sorry for your loss. The impact she has made on so many of us here in DC is unimaginable. I worked with Keir for almost two years. She was a ray of sunshine, the most fashionable in the office and a friend you could always count on.
My heart is so heavy as I type these words and I can´t believe this is real.
Keir, you were loved by so many. You were a true friend to me and I´ll always miss you. Love you always.

I had the opportunity to get to know Keir this year through work. Her positive light was seen in her smile and her interactions with all those that crossed her path. She was a pleasure to get to know and to work with.

Keir was an amazing student and young woman. I never taught her at NCSSM, but she did participate in a Summer Leadership and Research program that I helped to coordinate. She was respectful, kind, smart, and gifted. May God comfort her family as they mourn her and celebrate her life!

From the moment I met Keir, I thought she was one of the most amazing, hard-working, and dedicated people I'd ever met. I was hosting a recruitment weekend for students to NC State, and she came on crutches. She stayed the entire weekend and she did EVERYTHING with us with those crutches (scavenger hunt, tours, experiments, etc). I was so happy when she decided to come to NC State and when she was in my class her first semester. I felt privileged to know her, to see her growth, and to see her friendship with so many wonderful students at NC State. I know so many people are devastated right now, but I know so many people loved her, including me. To her friends and family, I am thinking of you and praying for you. Keir will forever be in all of our hearts. Love you Keir.
