Keith Phillip Abreu, 80, of Middleton, passed away on February 13, 2025 from heart failure.
Keith was born October 2, 1944, in Utah, to Rose and James Abreu. He was the youngest of 9 children. After graduating from high school, he went a mission with the LDS church. When he returned, he joined the Air Force. He started his career as a fire fighter and soon became the Supervisor. He then cross trained and started working with the air carriers (airplanes) as Cargo Master. His service in the military took him and his family to Washington, England, back to Washington, Hawaii, and Arizona. He went through two tours in Vietnam. He proudly served 23 years in the military and retired in 1990 in Tucson, Arizona. He was married to Darla Abreu (divorced) for 16 years and to MaryAnn Abreu (divorced) for 10 years. He remarried Darla in 1993, and they remained married until her passing in 2016.
Keith always had a passion for animals. After retiring, he worked at a veterinarian clinic. He and Darla also joined a Star Trek group. He loved Mexican food and spending quality time with his family going to the fair. It was an annual tradition that he looked forward to so he could spend time with family, enjoying the exhibits, and interacting with the animals.
Keith is survived by (son) Brian Abreu (Moriah Alex), (grandchildren) Dakota (21) and Benjamin (17), and (daughter) Lisa Carter (Mark), (grandchildren) Megan (31), Trevor (33), and Travis (35), (great-grandchildren) Peyton (10), and Carson (12). He is also survived by (brother) Gene Abreu, (sister) Joyce Abreu, many nieces and nephews, and his fur buddy Skipper (dog).
Keith was preceded in death by Darla Abreu (wife).
