Keith Christenson Obituary

Keith Gordon Christenson, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 4th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 62 years old.
Born on March 10th, 1963, in Seattle, Washington, Keith was the eldest child of Gordon and Marilyn Christenson. His early years were spent in Ballard, followed by moves to Edmonds-where his sister Cathy was born-and Monroe, where his brother Chris joined the family. In 1973, at age 10, the Christensons settled on Camano Island, Washington, where they built a life rooted in community, faith, and family.
Keith graduated from Stanwood High School in 1981. A proud freshman varsity wrestler, he soon discovered a deeper passion for cars and driving, which shaped much of his life's direction. Though he explored auto mechanic and auto body school, he ultimately chose to keep those pursuits as hobbies rather than a profession.
After working a variety of jobs, Keith found his professional home at Camano Mold, where he developed into a skilled machinist and learned the intricate art of investment casting. His time there opened the door to a meaningful collaboration with Ideality, where he gained valuable experience in business operations and deepened his understanding of entrepreneurship and tool & die work. Being a driven man and having a love for craftsmanship, Keith eventually launched his own tool and die business, Custom Tool, which he ran for more than 25 years, specializing in plastic injection molds. Keith's talents extended beyond the shop-he often used his skills to help friends with custom parts and to serve others through acts of kindness, such as oil changes and vehicle maintenance for widows and single mothers.
Keith's heart for service was evident in every aspect of his life. He participated in mission trips, assisted with yard and home projects, and supported outreach events that provided childcare for parents during special occasions. Though he often felt he hadn't done "quite enough," his quiet generosity and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Keith is survived by his devoted wife, Leslie Lynn Christenson; his children, Zachery Keith Christenson and Haley Suzanalynn Christenson; his sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and George Nygard; and his brother, Chris (Gordon Jr.) Christenson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Norris Christenson and Marilyn Irene Christenson.
Keith will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his mechanical ingenuity, and his unwavering commitment to serving others. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the love he gave so freely.
A service will be held on Saturday, October 18th, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Light refreshments will be served afterwards. If you'd like to contribute a dish, snack, or dessert to the celebration of life, please coordinate with Family Life Assembly of God.
