Keith M. Conner, age 67, passed away on December 18, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, Keith was a master of many things and a builder at heart. His wry humor and love of problem-solving wove through every aspect of his life, from quiet moments of creation to shared laughter with those he loved.

Keith's career as an architect spanned decades and left a lasting mark on Colorado. His designs, which included the University of Denver’s Ritchie Center and Lamont School of Music, the Evergreen Public Library, the Eagle County Courthouse, and the newest addition to the Denver Botanic Gardens, are testaments to his creative vision, attention to detail, and commitment to functionality. He had a remarkable ability to blend beauty and practicality, creating spaces that were not only visually stunning but also deeply purposeful - spaces that serve as enduring reminders of his legacy.

Whether through his love of music - ranging from jazz to rock to classical - or his passion for photography, Keith found beauty in the world around him. His musical tastes often set the backdrop to family gatherings and quiet evenings at home. And his photographs would capture moments of quiet beauty - like the glow of light on an ice-rimmed waterfall or a person deep in reflection - moments that many people would pass by unnoticed. An avid reader, particularly drawn to works by Tolkien, Robert Jordan, and other epic storytellers, Keith was endlessly curious and enjoyed exploring new worlds, often sharing these adventures with others.

As a devoted hockey fan, we could always find him cheering passionately for the University of Denver Pioneers and the Colorado Avalanche. Whether it was watching a game or discussing the latest match, sports were another avenue through which he expressed his enthusiasm for life.

Above all, Keith was a family man, steadfast and supportive. He shared nearly 43 years of marriage with his wife, Leslie - a deeply bonded partnership that formed the heart of their family. He took great pride in cheering on his daughters, whether it was at a state soccer championship, where he was there every step of the way, or at cello recitals, where his love and admiration for artistry were evident. Keith made it a priority to be home for dinner, help with homework, and support his family at every milestone. His consistent presence and encouragement were formative in his daughters’ lives, and they will forever cherish the memories of his belief in them.

Keith is survived by his beloved wife, Leslie; his daughters, Jennifer and Erin, and their spouses; two cherished grandchildren; his sisters, Darcie and Jenee; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by his life and work. He was preceded in death by his father, Dalton; his mother, Katherine; and his brother, Vince.

A celebration of Keith’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends when available.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Keith may consider a donation to KUVO Jazz or Swallow Hill Music, reflecting his love of creativity and community.
