Keith was born in Xenia, Ohio in 1943 and grew up on the Coy family farm in Beavercreek with many cousins and family. He attended Beavercreek High School and graduated from Heidelberg College with a BS in Biology. While in college, Keith met Lucy and they were married shortly after graduation in 1965. During their 48 years of marriage they moved five times making many friends along the way, raising their two children, and eventually becoming grandparents.
Keith spent 38 years as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He entered his duty with the FBI in the Laboratory Division in Washington, D.C. Keith was appointed the Special Agent position in 1966 and thereafter served in Atlanta and New Orleans eventually arriving back in Ohio in 1976. He worked out of the Dayton office until 1991 when he moved to the Cincinnati office. While out of the Dayton and Cincinnati FBI offices, he served as a SWAT Team member and leader, a police instructor, and as the FBI's Training Coordinator. In this last capacity, Keith helped coordinate the FBI National Academy and was an active member of the Hamilton County Police Association. Even after retirement Keith remained an active participant in both these organizations.
Keith was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hiking with his family and friends and spent much of his retirement on hiking trips to the Smokies, Yellowstone, the White Mountains, West Virginia, and many other places. Keith was also a great cook and always enjoyed entertaining. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends; especially his grandkids.
